Record Club Season Two

Sam is recording songs for his new Season of the Record Club, the first of which will be despatched at the end of April. Sam sends his subscribers a personalised CD every month of his latest song. Record Club members have also received other goodies from exclusive videos, guitar tabs, to secret gigs and backstage passes.

Sam Confirmed for Charlie Simpson Tour

Sam has been confirmed on the Charlie Simpson tour in March and April across the UK. Sam said "I'm looking forward to touring up and down the country from Dundee down to Falmouth, and meeting new friends. I'll also be telling people about my Record Club, and with Charlie's work with Pledge Music, showing there are lots of ways of getting one's music out there!"

Sam Beeton's new song 'Under the Fence' received its' first play on Radio 2 this month on the Janice Long show. OJ Berg, who was sitting in for Janice, said it was an amazing song and that Sam sounded just like a young Paul Simon.

Record Club Volume 5 released

Sam has released Volume 5 of his Record Club. This month the songs are 'This Lullaby' and an acoustic version of 'My Doll' recorded with Dean Jackson on BBC Introducing. Sam has also included the guitar tab for 'My Doll' for all those who have asked him for the chords to the song.

Sam said: "I've completely reworked this song with strings and percussion, and I think it now has a similar production feel to Good Natured Child. I'm also sending out a live version of My Doll - its similar to the Burberry Acoustic version. Every time I play that song it grows and evolves into something different."

Listen out for the first warbler of spring as Sam Beeton launches his fourth Record Club CD on a trip to the riverbank. The CD features two new tracks, 'I Remember' and 'She's Not In Love'.

Sam said: "I Remember is about lapsed faith. The new mix of 'She's Not in Love' is amazing, very atmospheric. You're going to enjoy this months CD!"

Sam performed at the March Shuga Buddha at London's The Bedford. The music and arts night featured live illustrations drawn to each song and projected behind each performer.

Photo by Adam Roberts. Here's a video from the night with Sam performing 'My Doll'. Sam said: "Having Galen the illustrator interpret my songs was beautiful and intriguing. The visuals evolved and unravelled as my songs progressed. I kept wanting to turn round and watch!"

Sam's Secret Gigs

Sam has a started to gain a reputation for performing some 'secret gigs' for his fans after his main shows. Members of his Record Club with VIP laminates are treated to something special as an aftershow meet and greet. These secret gigs have included performances of exclusive songs, photos, signed set lists and requests.

Fans with VIP passes for London's Bowery were treated to a unique performance of 'Blue Rose' in a very crowded, but intimate location. Sam is looking forward to adding to his list of secret gig locations. If you have an idea for an unusual show, please let us know

Sam's relationship with Burberry continues in 2011 with the filming of one of his new songs for Christopher Bailey's 'Burberry Acoustic' sessions, which have previously featured exclusive performances from One Night Only, Good Shoes and Johnny Borrell.

Burberry chose to record 'My Doll' during the fresh December snow in a churchyard in Godalming, near Sam's label and recording studio. Sam said: "It was so cold my breath was almost freezing as I sang. You'll notice you can't play guitar with gloves on! Luckily the video was shot in one take to give a feel of continuous movement. I think it's turned out really well!"

Sam Beeton launches his own Podcast

For his first podcast, Sam invents his own theme tune and answers questions recently submitted via his Fanbridge mailing list. He talks about touring, playing live, writing songs and how he got started. He also talks about the music business, starting his own label and releasing songs through his subscription Record Club.

Sam also previews a new song Half as Awake. Sam hopes to update you regularly, which means its worth subscribing to the RSS and updates will automatically arrive in your iTunes!

BBC Introducing has first play of Sam's 'Good Natured Child'

Dean Jackson at BBC Nottingham picked up on Sam's brand new track 'Good Natured Child' and played it this Saturday on his BBC Introducing show The Beat. The Beat show is also heard on BBC Derby, BBC Lincolnshire and BBC Leicester
